StopKorona!

Privacy Precautions

StopKorona! (hereinafter “the App”) is FREE OF CHARGE (and will always stay free of charge) app that you voluntarily download on your mobile device and enables exposure tracing process.

With your permission and consent, the App exchanges Bluetooth signals with nearby telephones that have the same app running. Then, the app helps provide answer to healthcare authorities about persons that have been in close proximity to the infected person in the past 14 days.

The purpose for which the App is used is with a view to attain greater protection of health. Information the App delivers to the Ministry of Health that are pivotal for the field of public health, as measure for prevention and prevent spread of the virus, and we are committed to taking all necessary precautions to protect your privacy and to fully preserve your control over data for contacts stored in your mobile telephone.

THE APP STORES AND COLLECTS LIMITED DATA

The only data the Ministry of Health stores are the following:

  • Your mobile telephone number
  • Unique Random Code (hereinafter URC)
    [ e.g. g6j4mjdl8 ]

When you sign up on the app, URC connects with your mobile number on secure central system with complete protection. The URC Register is filled in encrypted format, whereby only authorized persons from the Ministry of Health (MoH) have decryption keys.

THE APP DOES NOT COLLECT DATA ABOUT YOUR LOCATION

The App does not monitor nor collect data about your movements and location. The App uses Bluetooth technology to estimate only your distance from other mobile telephones that have activated the same app.

THE APP DOES NOT EXCHANGE PERSONAL IDENTITY DATA

When you are in close proximity to another mobile telephone with an active App, both telephones use Bluetooth protocol to exchange only URCs without exchanging any additional information from other App users nearby.

URCs FROM NEARBY MOBILE TELEPHONES ARE STORED ON YOUR TELEPHONE

If the App on your telephone is running, URCs from other nearby users are stored on your telephone, and vice versa. Hence, if you and/or the user of the nearby telephone are confirmed to be infected with COVID-19, you or the other person shall independently decide whether to give MoH access to data stored in the mobile telephone. The data shall not contain mobile telephone number, but rather only a list of URCs that may be decrypted only by authorized persons from the Ministry of Health. URC list locally saved on your mobile telephone is automatically cleared from data older than 14 days, which makes it impossible to send such data to the Ministry of Health.

YOUR DATA WILL BE USED EXCLUSIVELY TO TRACE POTENTIAL EXPOSURE TO COVID-19

After you give the Ministry of Health access to data from your telephone, those data will be used solely to trace persons that could be potentially infected with COVID-19.

THE APP WOULD COMMUNICATE WITH NEARBY MOBILE TELEPHONES FOR A LIMITED TIME

You may willingly disable the functionality of the App at any given time by disabling Bluetooth permissions via the App or by deleting the App.

YOU HAVE COMPLETE CONTROL OVER YOUR DATA AND MAY WITHDRAW YOUR CONSENT AT ANY GIVEN TIME

You may, at any given time, withdraw your consent for storing your mobile telephone number, by opening the drop-down menu in the upper right corner in the app and selecting the option Delete Data. After you have performed this activity, the app will display a notification with the following message: “All sent registration data and information will be deleted. CANCEL / DELETE”, whereby you will be given the opportunity to choose between CANCEL and DELETE. If you choose DELETE, your mobile telephone number will be permanently deleted from our server. Moreover, all data stored in your app, data you have already sent and anonymous codes for your app in other apps that have been nearby will be permanently deleted from our server.
